Man elaborates images of the world that have meanings and values. The rescue of the images is important so that the man knows its existence, to experience its space and to construct the history. Based on the phenomenological method, the research has an exploratory and descriptive character. Seek to analyze and describe the images derived from the proposal to know the Amazon. The landscape is conceived as an expression of the world of life, or of being-in-the-world, since it is the encounter of a look and an image. Bibliographic research, data collection by interviews and fieldwork are methodological procedures. The images that people make of the place where they reside strengthen the local knowledge and allow the stranger to become close. The research focus is the Central region of Rondônia, dynamic area of the Brazilian Amazon. The landscape is the starting point for broader reflections because it is more than I see. This category is a result of perception, imagination and experience. The process of remembering is one of the main ways of identifying ourselves when we tell a story and a landscape. In this process, we think of the past, what exists in the present, and the desires for the future.
