Resumo: | Voltage Instability in Electrical Power Systems (EPS) is a phenomenon that should be avoided due to the serious effects that it brings to the system, as, for example, large network outages. It should be considered from the early stages of planning tasks by the adoption of Voltage Stability Margins to ensure EPS safe operation. The determination of appropriate margins for the various activities carried out in the EPS is not a trivial task. This work proposes a methodology to determine appropriate Voltage Stability Margins to be adopted in the Expansion and Operational Planning of the EPS. This proposal is based on the identification of parameters that decisively affect the value of these margins. It carries out a sensitivity analysis that establishes weighting factors to consider the impact of the uncertainty related to these parameters on the composition of the margin value. The proposal made in this dissertation takes into account the particularities of the Expansion and Operation activities providing an analysis tool to assist planners in the identification of a more accurate voltage margin. Additionally, it allows them getting a better understanding about electrical system behavior regarding voltage instability phenomenon. |
