Resumo: | With the growth of renewable energy sources and the adoption of microgrids for energy management, interface converters have become fundamental to connect these structures to the power grid. The efficiency of these converters is a key factor in making microgrids implementation viable. In this context, this work aims to study and design a bidirectional AC/DC converter of 10kW for the interface of a hybrid microgrid. The converter project consists of synthesizing a 380V DC output voltage from a single-phase 220V AC source using a two-stage converter. For this purpose, 384 combinations of power transistor topologies and configurations (Si IGBTs and SiC MOSFETs) were evaluated, considering both cost and efficiency in the search for the optimal design. The power switch losses were determined using the thermal module of PSIM, while the inductors were designed with a routine in MATLAB that calculates the optimal design for low losses. To improve the converter's efficiency, a study was conducted on the impact of design parameter variations on the efficiency curve. To evaluate and choose the optimal converter, Pareto Boundary candidates were selected, and a loss study was conducted. |
