Resumo: | This thesis aims to analyze the interaction between State, Market and Family in relation to Education, Health, Social Security and care in Brazil. These interactions are analyzed for different life course phases (0 to 5, 6 to 17, 18 to 24, 25 to 50 and 60 or more). Its methodological framework integrates social polices, employability and family arrangements. The database used is a Consumer Expenditure Survey 2008-2009 from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The statistical method used is the Grade of Membership (GoM) model. The results define Market, State, Family and Vulnerable profiles to each stage of the life course and gender. The Market profile is basically on the fourth and fifth expenditure quintile. Its mainly white and acquires education, heath and care services from the market. The Family profile has mainly couples with single income or one parent arrangements. The main characteristic of this profile is that people in there dont work. The State profile is composed mostly by people who work informally and receive monetary assistance from the state. The Vulnerable profile is the one with less state, market and family care. The result shows also a strong relationship between life course characteristics (mainly work and study) with the type of provision (public or private) predominant. We also highlight variations in the frequency of profiles, type and coverage of social policies in different age groups and sex. |
