Resumo: | The thesis that follows aimed to build a narrative about Lindeia, a neighborhood located on the outskirts of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. Everything from the memory of some its precursors and delimited to of priesthood time of two jesuit priests in the neighborhood. In the first chapter, the focus was on the landscape of the neighborhood, its places and architectural structures (current and from the past) and its borders. In the second, the social strength of priests for the formation of political movements in favor of improvements to the neighborhood's urban infrastructure, as well as their historically constituted cultural and their most revelant public figures. In the third chapter, the highlight was the importance of the process of buying lots and building houses for new residentes; the collective constructions of churches (and their occupations) and schools. In the fourth chapter, it focused on the neighborhood streets. More accurately, the relation between population and the neighborhood streets, wheter due to the symbolism of their names, their relevance to the configuration of the local landscape or because their commerce places, festive events, small facts (political, religious and social) and public transport. The perception of that this is part of the claims of social “struggles” and mutual aid movements were the main results achieved in this study. The research method was oral history, in which interviews were conducted for living witnesses of the beginning urbanization of the neighborhood. The theoretical foundation covered several fields of knowledge. With regard to collective memory and its unfolding to explain the formation of the neighborhood, was used, among others, Bosi (1994) and Halbwachs (2006). On the topic related to urbanization, Jacobs (2011) and Pallasmaa (2018). On the issue of landscape, Collot (2012), Turri (2013) and others. On the topic related to urbanization, Jacobs (2011) and Pallasmaa (2018). The intended knowledge was related to a field experience focused on the strength of memory as a builder of urban meanings. More than Lindeia as it is, was or will be, the value of the research focused on the urban formation of a neighborhood remembered by the protagonists of its history. The study, finally, as far as reaching part of the history of some neighborhood in Belo Horizonte, intended to reveal an area and a peculiar time of the city. |
