Resumo: | Nowadays, there is an increased concern about electric and magnetic fields in the environment. Since power facilities have been identified as sources of electromagnetic fields, there is a great interest in determining magnetic and electric fields generated from transmission lines. This work presents measurements and calculations of electric and magnetic fields generated from a 500 kV overhead transmission line. Measurement procedures proposed by literature were utilized to measure magnetic and electric fields in the vicinity of a transmission line. In order to calculate the field values, the main variables were considered and evaluated by precise instruments. In addiction, analysis of the presence of obstacles in the span, such as distribution line, fences and vegetation was developed. A program was developed to calculate electric and magnetic fields using analytical equations. The comparison between measurements and calculations shows that simple methods can be effective to determine magnetic and electric fields closed to ground level in the vicinity of transmission lines, since system?s characteristics are well known. |
