Resumo: The intermediate region of Januária / MG has historically stood out for its agroextractive activities. Currently, the presence of family agroindustries that work with artisanal, regional and agroecological products is observed. In this sense, it was decided to describe the history and trajectory of the Association of Users of the Rio dos Cochos Sub-basin - ASSUSBAC and the Cooperative of Family Farmers and Agroextractivists of Vale do Peruaçu - COOPERUAÇU, as they are two institutions that operate in the processing and marketing of agroextractive products from family farming, as well as in environmental conservation and revitalization of the Rio dos Cochos and Peruaçu basin. In order to understand the production and food consumption dynamics of the two institutions, it was decided to seek reference in the methodology of the Localized Agri-Food System, the Theory of Conventions and New Food Orders with delimitation in the domestic world, artisanal world as an unfolding of the domestic order and world from the articulation of the short commercialization circuit in the immediate region of Januária / MG. In particular, the agroextractivists and leaders of the traditional communities of the Cerrado become the object of study, but specifically those linked to Assusbac and Cooperuaçu. For this, the methodology used was: bibliographic review, documentary research, case study, and application of a structured questionnaire to obtain demographic, socioeconomic information, family production and commercialization of products in the region studied. The results of the research show that the creation of sustainable marketing alternatives and purposeful actions for the insertion of agroextractive products in local and regional short circuits has impacted and expanded commercial transactions in the region. The implementation of the community project that supports agriculture (CSA) Peruaçu has also contributed significantly to the diversification of the income of agroextractivists, the autonomy of family farmers and their food and nutritional security, but it has not guaranteed their self-sufficiency
