Resumo: | The word “compliance” can be understood as acting in accordance with some rule, instruction, command or request. In the Brazilian contexto, the concepto f compliance is associated with the concept of Corporate Governance and received special attention with the enactment of Brazilian Law 12.846/2013 (BRASIL, 2013), also called Anti-Corruption Law, which was regulated by Decree 8.420/2015 (BRASIL, 2015), later updated by Decree 11.129/2022 (BRASIL, 2022). The great challenge is to establish a true ethical culture, consistent with the organization’s identity and based on managers’ example. This study’s objective was to analyze the adherence level of managers to the Compliance Program of a Network of Private Hospitals in Minas Gerais considering their attitudes and behavior towards compliance rules. This research was carried out in two steps. In this first step, the parameters were defined for the construction of a scale of attitudes and behaviors, in face of the compliance rules, through documentary research. Secondly, the attitudes and behaviors scale were applied to the Hospital Network managers through structured questionnaires. By descriptive statistics we analyzed the research data acquired through questionnaires using the Shapiro Wilk normality test. The validation process underwent internal consistency analysis through Cronbach’s Alpha test. We compared the attitude and behaviors with the adhesion to the scale of attitude data using Wilcoxon test; and the behavior scale was evaluated evaluated through the coefficient of variation. To assess the influences of age and length of service on the responses, we used the Spearman’s Correlation and the Mann Whitney tests. Our results made it possible to analyze the coherence between attitude and behavior of the enrolled participants in issues related to compliance with legislation, practices to avoid conflicts of interest, adequate relations with public agents, ideal model of the disciplinary process in companies and correct approach in research involving human beings. We can also highlight participants’ adherence to the attitude scale for topics related to environmental sustainability, harassment and conflict of interests. The Technical Product generated by this study was the technical report to be presented to the Hospital Network presidency, which contains the research results analysis on the level of managers’ adherence to the Compliance Program of the Network of Private Hospitals, considering their attitudes and behavior towards compliance rules. |
