Resumo: | The BRT systems Bus Rapid Transit have been adopted in cities around the world as an alternative mass transport due to lower costs of deployment and operation. For this system obtain the performance compared to rail modes, its essential purpose, special focus should be given to the design of the stations, which are, if not the biggest, one of the major bottlenecks in the system. In this context, in this study is discussed and developed criteria for defining design elements of the corridors of BRT stations. The selection of these elements are given based on surveys of experts and evaluation of the project in BRT development of Belo Horizonte, the microscopic simulation being used to support the analyzes. A survey of experts determined the order of importance of elements and design parameters, and revealed information systems in operation in the cities of Cali, Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba. The parameters of time per passenger and the maneuvering of buses were measured in similar systems, to calibrate the model simulation and reach conclusions about the design methods used. The results of the study made it possible to identify how each element of the project should be considered for proper performance of this system component, focusing on capacity and level of customer service. |
