Resumo: | In part of the integrated engineering centers, professionals usually do not care about the design process of their systems and its consequent development strategies. They focus, most of the time, only on the technical, scientific and technological solutions to the problems presented to them. However, the growing need for better quality results and cost-effectiveness, which are increasingly complex and multidisciplinary, has motivated the change of that way of thinking. In the context of mechatronics, the scenario is even more aggravating. For successful results, it is extremely necessary to evaluate how the project was conducted, mainly in the synergetic aspect of their domains. Nevertheless, due to the low understanding of how the areas, subsystems, and components are related, during the phases of development, most of the mechatronic projects follow the sequential approach. In that manner, the parties are idealized separately and at the end, are just joined. However, projects that are conducted in this way, much of the time, have limited or even inefficient performance. Therefore, the present work proposes a design methodology for mechatronic systems from a prescriptive model of development. The X Model proposed prescribes structured stages, which map the paths to be followed by the project team, in order to minimize the problems mentioned above and reach the main system requirements and functions efficiently and optimally. Thus, the author hopes that the present dissertation can be used as a source of information to assist professionals and engineering students in the development of mechatronic systems and awaken their interest in the design methodology area. |
