Resumo: Numerical methods for solution approximation of partial differential equations are presentinseveralareasofscience. In electrical engineering, one of its applications is for solving problems involving electromagnetic phenomena. Adaptive methods are strategic tools that, combined with numerical methods, promote better accuracy in results. The combination of these two concepts brings an idea called Adaptive Numerical Methods. These methods have an iterative solution that is concerned with rening the numerical method until an error is reached. This work we will present the Contamination Adaptive Meshless Method, an adaptive numerical method that brings a new concept to select the candidate nodes to remain in the domain and presents an additional step that makes a nal selection from these candidatenodes. The method proposed gives results with convergence of the most stable error and a better precision, because it obtained errors with an order of magnitude lower than the other methods used for comparison. Inaddition, the Adaptive Contamination Approach reduced the nodes increment in the domain by 69% compared with others adaptive methodsused
