Resumo: | This study aims to evaluate the performance of a vehicle brake system, through the analysis of wear and coefficient of friction due to the contact pressure, the slip speed and temperature. For this purpose, assays were performed by applying two different methodologies, the methodlogy of Krauss and the Makrahys methodology. During the tests were monitored braking force, temperature and wear of the brake pads. Another objective was to make improvements on the brake test bench that addressed resources to contribute and facilitate the operation of the equipment, and improve the quality of data. The test results show that coefficient of friction decreases with increasing slip velocity or contact pressure. With respect to temperature, it was possible to observe an increase of the friction coefficient with the growth temperature to a maximum value, which occurred at the beginning of the fade temperature, from which the friction coefficient decreases. It was also observed the influence of contact pressure on the fade effect temperature. With regard to wear of the pads, an exponential increase caused by the increase in the slip speed and / or the contact pressure was observed. Therefore the results found on this study are similar to those found on the literature, and the brake test bench was qualitatively validated. |
