Resumo: The aim of this dissertation in to present a computer integrated manufacturing scenario for the development of moulds for thermoforming plastic products. Additionally, some strategies are proposed for their integration with manufacture. Thus, the identification and assessment of parameters from reference products require technical actions distinct from those usually expected in the traditional mould industry. In order to achieve the computer integration of engineering activities, the combination of technologies such as tridimensional scanning, computer aided design systems, rapid prototyping and tooling, among others, is proposed in this work. Finally, the investigated case study is concerned not only with the straight reproduction of the product with different tools, owing to the fact that with the implementation of the processes improvement, a distinctive process was developed. Furthermore, it was possible to make a connection between the developed and manufactured products by means of design approaches integrated to manufacture.
