Resumo: In the central-southeastern portion of Minas Gerais, is the Iron Quadrangle (Quadrilátero Ferrífero), an important mineral province of lush natural beauty associated with a rich geodiversity and biodiversity. Along with physical, historical, artistic and cultural aspects are part of an odd scenario, especially in a national context and internationally, which legitimized the application of the region to integrate the World UNESCO Geoparks Network. This study aimed to analyze the spatial distribution of Geopark QFE from tourist attractions to identify the most promising areas and to propose a zoning. For development was used as reference 28 geosites representing the geological and mining history and an inventory of the property of cultural heritage material, intangible cultural heritage and natural heritage. As support, they were calculated and used indices of abundance (number) and variety of tourist attractions. A multi-criteria analysis was used to map the tourism potential of the study area. To recognize spatial distribution patterns aimed specifically zoning opted for the data mining technique based on classification by decision tree using the J48 algorithm. The results provided to identify the frequency and variety of the spatial distribution of tourist attractions, besides the identification of four tourist areas. This study may support the development of sustainable tourism, which aims to preserve the natural heritage, built, social, historical and cultural, besides offering support to the elaboration of a strategic plan for the Geopark Quadrilátero Ferrífero, strengthening its management.
