Resumo: | Laminar tissue from claw harvest is a procedure which has limitations due to lack of surgical instruments and effective technique. The aim was to develop and test in vivo in cattle a surgical instrument with specific purpose to laminar tissue harvest. It was designed, it was produced and it was tested a prototype characterized by a cable, a rod and a active tip. After sedation, five adult cattle were contained in lateral recumbency and locally anesthetized in two digits. With the support of a rotary tool couple to high speed cutter 3/8”, it was done the wear of the corneum stratum until the soft tissue proximity. Next, the inner edge of the wear area was bounded with scalpel. The surgical instrument was introduced and used. The histological fragments of 16mm long by 6mm deep were stained with HE, PAS, Masson and Shorr. In the histological analysis, the structures of interest were differentiated without technical artifacts and the number of epidermal laminae was 86 ± 39 (forelimb) and 83 ± 52 (hind limb). There was no significant lameness. It was concluded that the proposed instrument is feasible and effective to obtain the laminar tissue biopsies from cattle claw. The prototype was called lamelotom FalcãoFaleiros and the patent was filed with the INPI (BR102013018765-8). |
