Resumo: This research aims to investigate the potential for using the Web 2.0 principles and tools - that enable collaboration and collective intelligence - in the organizational knowledge management. In addition, as an applied research, we aim to propose guidelines for the incorporation of these principles and tools to a corporate performance management software, thus stimulating collaborative practice and collective intelligence. The starting question for the research was: How could the web 2.0 collaboration tools be assessed according to the perspective of the organizational knowledge management processes? The theoretical background includes the knowledge management in the era of collaboration; new ways of collaboration; the Web 2.0 principles and tools, organizational knowledge management and the Web 2.0, the Enterprise 2.0 and some Web 2.0 initiatives in organizations. In the methodological procedure, a qualitative approach involving the assessment of new ways of collaboration and interaction was used. The tool survey for further selection was carried out by means of document analysis, in several sources, including printed documents, websites, software, applications, images, tutorials and videos. The 10 selected tools were experimented, taking into consideration the following analysis factors: the collaboration criteria, based on the 3C Collaboration Model, and the essential processes of knowledge management, identified by Probst, Raub and Romhardt (2002). The results of the experimentation of the tools describe the dynamics of the operation of all of them, which collaboration criteria were met, the potential impact on knowledge management and the guideline for the application of the Web 2.0 principles and tools to a management software, taking into account the goal to stimulate collaborative practice in organizations. In conclusion, the Web 2.0 principles and tools are capable of generating an impact on organizational knowledge management and also empower users to, in turn, add value to applications, based on the Architecture of Participation.
