Resumo: Introduction: The availability of scientific information in institutional repositories, such as Fiocruz's institutional repository in the health area, is quite varied and useful. Bearing in mind that Fiocruz's institutional repository presents itself as one of the most complete on yellow fever, we ask: what are the documents on Yellow Fever? How is its usability presented? Is the supply of content in the Fiocruz Institutional Repository efficient to supply this dissemination? Objective: This research aims to analyze the ARCA-Fiocruz Institutional Repository on the content available in relation to Yellow Fever, its usability and functionality, from 1997 to 2015. Theoretical Framework: The theoretical foundation includes authors who contribute to the conceptualization of Information Science, Scientific Communication and Institutional Repositories, Open Access to Information, and Yellow Fever. Methodology: This is a descriptive study with a quantitative and qualitative approach. Data collection on the content of ARCA, Fiocruz's IR, was carried out aiming to compare data collected from European Union IRs and in the study by Costa e Leite (2009), adapted to the objectives of this research. The characteristics analyzed include: librarianship, subdivided between: information system; users; services and products; representation of content and navigation and search resources. Technology, subdivided into: software analysis; network infrastructure available for implementation. User / System Interaction. Dissemination and types of users; usability analysis; functionality analysis as observed in the RI-ARCA; measurement of material on Yellow Fever, lists of keywords and DeCS descriptors. The Likert scale was used to analyze the characteristics observed in terms of the qualitative approach. Results: In the results, 44 records were identified that met the criteria of this study. On the Likert scale, the results had a score of 3.8 out of a total of four; this represents very positive observations from ARCA-Fiocruz. As a counterpoint, it is observed that the software used does not allow information retrieval with broad search strategies in one expression, only. The result of the evaluation of the Institutional Repository in general is close to the maximum category with regard to meeting the characteristics analyzed.
