Resumo: | Nowadays, the mathematical models application to the ore beneficiation process performance forecast and simulation has been successfully well-applied. This methodology development discloses relevant outcomes allowing for correlation of the industrial operation data and the breakage parameters determined in laboratory mills. The selection function scale-up methodology was applied to determinate the breakage parameters of the limestone, used as an intake in the iron ore pellet production, processed in a closed dry-grinding circuit. An industrial scale analysis was developed for the main grinding process parameters evaluation that consistently manipulates the particles specific breakage rate. This qualitatively and quantitatively research enabled the validation of the grinding mill revamp modification effectiveness. A few improvement opportunities were identified for the grinding media size distribution management into the mill and for the intake receiving control. The limestone breakage parameters determination allowed the construction of the Samarco’s dry-grinding process development background. The final analysis of the scale-up model shows a suitable adjustment, quantitatively checked by statistic methods. |
