Resumo: | Studies carried out by neuroscientists point to the idea that emotions are indispensable in the decision-making process and point us in the direction in which cold logic may not indicate the best alternative. Decision making, considering financial gains or losses, involves activating brain structures with the amygdala, which is an important component of aversion. It issues an alert for action in the imminence of threat or danger, generating unconscious behavioral responses. The present work will verify whether the basic emotions are associated with a greater or lesser level of propensity to risk, heuristic speed and entrepreneurial potential. Therefore, we seek to interconnect areas of different knowledge such as Neurosciences and Applied Social Sciences. This study is classified as a descriptive cross-sectional observational with a quantitative approach carried out through data collection using the information survey method. The result of the study showed an association between Entrepreneurial Potential (PEM) and Propensity to Risk (RIS), and the higher the level of PEM, the greater the tendency towards RIS levels. Another finding pointed out that individuals with high Heuristic Velocity (HEV) had a higher RIS. However, it could not be concluded that the greater intensity of basic positive or negative emotions present during the Iowa Gambling Task (IGT) card game would guarantee a more expressive human behavior in relation to risk propensity, heuristic speed or entrepreneurial potential, being, therefore, further studies are needed to verify whether there is an association between basic emotions and the other variables addressed. |
