Resumo: | This thesis presents a study of comparative arts, with the aim of analyzing relations between literature and dance. The corpus of this work is constituted by the choreographic montages Nazareth and Parabelo, by Grupo Corpo, respectively, in comparison with the novel Esaú e Jacó, the short stories Um homem célebre, Trio em lá menor and Terpsícore, by Machado de Assis, and with the novel Grande Sertão: Veredas, by João Guimarães Rosa. This research is justified by its theoretical relevance, placed in the area of Comparative Literature, and by the low incidence of comparative studies between literature and dance in Brazil. The hypothesis supported is that the notions of mythic-memorial traits and dialectical images contribute to a broader perception of the aesthetic, intertextual and intercultural mechanisms in the field of comparative arts. The study is divided into two methodological approaches: the first, based on the principle of Sociopoetics, guides the reading of elements of popular culture, collective memory and social practices in literary narratives and choreographic arrangements, analyzed in this dissertation. The second, based on Warburgs pathosformel principle and the montage, guides the study of mythic-memorial traits and anachronisms, present in images and gestures, investigated in the corpus of this research. It was found that the confluence between literature and dance is fruitful for the analysis of mechanisms of aesthetic figurability in the field of comparative arts, and especially for the perception of the sensory and poetic force of language. |
