O planejamento estratégico em instituições privadas de ensino superior no estado de Acre: os casos da FIRB e FAAO

Resumo: The university, as an organization, has a fundamental role in the modern world, in several sceneries, training professionals in many different areas, producing and disclosing knowledge, in order to solve social problems. The transmission, production and application of knowledge are so important for the humanity's future, which becomes obligatory to the universities the exercise of an agile administration, adapting its management to the needs of the global society, which already belongs to this new millennium. The speed of the events, one of the main characteristics of these new times, forces all the organizations to adapt themselves to the new sceneries, or simply succumb. This way, it can be seen the importance of the process of planning, to formalize and to guide actions to objectives of great importance, such as buildingcitizenship. The strategic planning enlarges a little more the concept of planning; therefore it has greater complexity of factors and more involved parameters. In the strategic planning, it is involved the analysis of the menaces and opportunities that compose the external ambience and the forces and weakness in relation to the internal atmosphere. Based in those presuppositions, and with the objective to characterize and analyze the practice of administration of PDI - Plan of Institutional Development, as instrument of strategic planning in its daily action, It was done studies of cases, with a descriptive and analytic character, in Faculdade de Ciências Jurídicas e Sociais aplicadas Rio Branco and in Faculdade da Amazônia Ocidental, both addressed in the state of Acre, starting from a sample of eighty eight people. The research was developed through a qualitative strategy. The information reveals that there is a centralizingmanagerial model, where the reactive management goes higher than the pro-activate one, although there are internal efforts to adapt the institutions to the orientations of the Ministry of Education, when formulating the political-pedagogic project.
