Análise dos acidentes de trabalho causados por meio de transporte motocicleta em uma capital brasileira

Resumo: Introduction: Occupational accidents with motorcycle can result in the death ofthe worker or permanent damage throughout his life.This injury has become a public health problem due to the increasing number oftraffic accidents with motorcycles, many of those accidents. Objective: Toanalyze accidents at work in Belo Horizonte, in the period 2004 to 2008 with themeans of transport motorcycle, searching for the characterization andepidemiological relationship with the social and occupational aspects.Methodology: This is an epidemiologic, analytic, cross-sectional design. Theanalysis was performed from the database generated by the SIAT / SUS / BH inthe period 2004 to 2008 available electronically. Results: With regard to theprofile, 65% were young people from ages 20 to 29, 91% male, 33.2% had arider in the profession of transport documents and small packages. The tradewas the economic activity sector with the highest number of accidents at workand the code of the branch of trade activity with the highest frequency was theactivities of research, surveillance and security. With respect to timing, the year2007 was the period of highest occurrence of accidents. The days of the weekand months of the year had a uniform distribution for the event studied. Theaccident at work led the path type of accident and the hospital with John XXIIIpredominant victims care unit. The categorization of the code more CIDs werefound on the chapter Injury, poisoning and consequences of external causes,especially the CIDV23 (Motorcyclist injured in collision with a vehicle (car),"pick-up truck or van). The body parts most affected were the lower limbs, withmultiple locations, leading the data. Conclusion: It appears that the accidentwith the motorcycle mode of transportation is a problem of public healthconcern, deserving of actions and measures that seek to reduce the rates ofthese events. The results of this study show the growth of industrial accidentscaused by motorcycle in the sector of activities of research, surveillance andsecurity, surpassing the frequencies of the group of employees or courierscouriers small volumes. It is hoped that this understanding of the reality ofmotorcycle accidents can be used by public authorities and the municipality ofBrazil and other professionals related to the issue presented, the aim ofreducing human and material losses. It is hoped that these findings may supportthe construction of public policies, obtaining and improving the quality ofinformation on morbidity and mortality of workers, for the generation of futureimprovements in working conditions, reduction of risks.
