The choice was for several reasons: its thematic material ( historical fact ) ; recognition won in Brazil and abroad; the constant search for the actor improve its performance during the period of nearly a decade in the same spectacle ; to be representative of the theatrical monologue genre, which is gaining more importance in the contemporary theater scene ; and also to realize an insufficient scholarship on creative processes of solo works. The first chapter provides a brief overview of how the monologues were seen throughout the history of theater, based on reflections of some scholars as well as definitions of some structural concepts of this theatrical genre, their differences aside, soliloquy, solo show and stand -up and the main technical resources employed. The second chapter points out some features of Rio's historical and cultural context and Brazil in the first decade of this century, accompanied by a selected critical fortune that evaluated the impact of this solo work among theater critics, journalists, teachers and researchers of the performing arts. The analysis of the creative process-man show, based on the Italian playwright Dario Fo's text, considered the choice of the piece and the subject matter, the translation / adaptation to Portuguese and Brazilian reality, the period of testing (improvisations, technical used, difficulties faced and facilities) and the changes that were added during the hundreds of presentations.
