A produção técnico-científica dos docentes do Departamento de Educação Física da Universidade Federal do Piauí: um estudo exploratório sob o enfoque da Ciência da Informação

Resumo: | Based on a revision of the literature on physical education, scientific communication, scientific production and evaluation at university, this research presents an exploratory study of the technical-scientific production of the faculty of the Department of Physical Education of the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI) Brazil , under the viewpoint of the information science. The aims set for this research are: a) to identify the technical-scientific production of the faculty of the faculty of the physical education department at the Federal University of Piauí, by analyzing it according to its nature, language, sub-area of study and kinf of authorship; b)to suggestions activities which are not part of the evaluation criteria of the government document entitled know in Brazil Gratification and Encouragement to the Faculty (GED); c) to detect motivating and inhibitors of technical-scientific production; d) verify the degree of satisfaction the evaluation criteria among the faculty of the GED; e) and finally, to compare the sorts of activities in the GED / UFPI and the GED of the federal university of the state of Minas Gerais, Brasil (UFMG). The research was developed by analysing the reports of the activities presented in the GED programme and by interviewing the faculty members. This results showed that the technical and scientifical production activities contained by GED / UFMG are more complete than the ones of the GED / UFPI. The main types of scientific production developed by the faculty are: lecture / conference / roundtable and production of teaching material.The activities more suggested by the professors are the organisation of competitions , the training of teams for competitions and the ruling. Most of the faculty members interviewed considered themselves satisfied with the evaluation criteria of their, activities in the GED / UFPI. The professors believe that the success in their professional career, their will for causing debates and testing their ideas are motivating factors in their technical scientific production. The faculty regards the lack of institutional infra- structure as inhibiting factors in their scientific production. The sub - areas of study in physical education with the largest number of developed productions at the department researched are: physical education, sport and recreation and leisure, found in papers published in Portuguese and individual authorship. Finally, the only specific activity in physical education, which is common in both gratification programmes, is choreography that received national and international awards. |
