Resumo: | The phenomenon of peripheric soirées (a spoken word movement in Brazil) begins 15 years ago in the poor suburbs of São Paulo. It has spread since then, throughout the country. The research investigated the network of meanings formed around the peripheric soirees in the city ofBelo Horizonte. To this end, the research developed own method inspired in the propositions of the philosopher Jacques Rancière. This method articulated traditional methodological strategies in the field of social psychology and sociology of art with the epistemological debate proposed by that author. Through this method, the research produced five investigative scenes. The first one is composed of a methodological paraphrase inspired by Jacques Rancière investigations. The second one consisted of a set of academic interpretations of peripheric soirees and on experiences that dialogue directly with them, as Marginal Peripheric Literature (Literatura Marginal Periférica). Then history developed around the Coletivoz Peripheric Soiree stands as acounterpoint to those interpretations. Following the conventions participants set for the preparation of their texts, presentations, reception forms, artistic activity, the formal aspects and the suburbs are investigated. Finally, a set of texts is analyzed paying attention to the sensitive space to which they turn. Those scenes are profiled to infer articulated meanings between those different scenes. Therefore, the research highlights the hierarchies and spaces made visible bycomparative work: that which intersects between all the different scenes and which it excludes. As a result, research shows forms of inequality played by different interpretations that dialogue with those experiences. Through the analysis unfolded along the thesis, it was possible to verifythe interpretation of the experiences of the urban poor reiterating usual tropes associated with poverty and other experiences of minority groups by placing them in specific places of social hierarchies as manual versus abstract, body versus spirit, collective versus individual, spontaneous versus reflected, testimonial versus fiction, pragmatic versus enjoyable. Therefore, the thesis investigated as forms of interpretation among different social actors and artistic activities mobilized around the peripheric soirees, contribute to reframing (or not) those experiences associated with poverty. Thus, interpretations of intellectual experiences of the urban poor reveals links between the aesthetic, epistemological and political debate associated with poverty. |
