Resumo: | The purpose of this work was to comprehend and describe the model of corporative university, and also to establish the associations and implications resulting from this professional development configuration on the human resources management, which, until now, was themanagerial sector responsible for this role. Through a case study, a financial institutions corporative university was surveyed. The researched units were located at the Brazilian states of Brasilia (DF) and Belo Horizonte (MG). The study was made up by a qualitative/descriptiveresearch. Tes timonials, documental analysis of companys records, and bibliographical findings were put together to shape the scope of the concept, and form the contend research. The results show that the corporative university is much closer to the conceptual frames proposed by the available literature - excepting some aspects, that are mere duplication of old difficulties experienced by the T&D sector. In regard to its origin, the main reasons that led to the adoption of the corporative universitys framework were the internal needs intrinsically related to theorganizations political strategy and employees, as well as the external needs related to market strategy. In what refers to the implications of corporative university over human resources management, the studied one presents itself as an appendix, a function of human resources, being well articulated with other HRs processes. Therefore, the corporative university tends to strengthen the human resources management in some aspects, while in others, it tends to reiterate the same historical difficulties of the old T&D, not advancing or aggregating any de facto value. |
