Resumo: | One of the contents in thematic areas of National Curriculum Parameters (PCNs) is the study of evolutionary biology, not with a deep approach, but with a focus on studies of evolutionary-ecological concepts for the understanding of the biological contents. However we observed that such an approach is still not present in textbooks. So one of the alternatives found to solve this problem are visits to museums and space science. Research indicates that these spaces are excellent places for the dissemination of science and that can contribute to better understanding of the evolutionary concepts. This study examined what the previous ideas that visitors have about the evolutionary concepts, and if mediation helps the assimilation of scientific concepts presented during the visit to the museum. The study was conducted with mediators and visitors Espaço do Conhecimento UFMG. For data collection semi-structured self-administered questionnaires were used and interviews, previously validated through a pilot study. The results indicate many inconsistencies in the knowledge brought by visitors and mediators on evolution. As final research product has been designed an illustrated book that discusses the most frequently asked questions about evolution. The material can serve as a guide for teachers, mediators as well as a reference for school research to the students. |
