Resumo: Nowadays, social interactions are marked by multiple languages and new technologies. It is in this context that "stickers", electronic figures and images widely used in contemporary communicative exchanges in cyberspace (social networks and messaging applications), have emerged. Thus, taking these points into consideration, this paper seeks to present an research, developed in the scope of the Professional Master's Degree in Languages at UFMG (ProfLetras), which contemplates, in its elaboration, the development of competencies related to reading and writing through the work with stickers in Portuguese Language classes in basic education. Methodologically, the research is of a qualitative nature and of a propositional nature for the classroom, contemplating different stages that involve the selection, systematization, and analysis of stickers, with a view to understanding this language practice inside and outside the school environment. In other words, after the selection of the "corpus" of investigation, the research will seek to analyze the teachable dimensions of this multisemiotic resource, focusing on the interacy and intertextual processes that characterize its constitution and functioning in different situations of language use, taking into consideration a proposal for the teaching of Portuguese Language based on multimodality and on the new textual elements that circulate in digital environments, in this cyberspace. The theoretical and methodological foundations of the research are anchored in the studies developed by Fisher (2009), Higounet (2003), Lyons (2011), Marcuschi (2011), Kerbrat-Orecchioni (2006), Bakhtin (2006; 2012), Fiorin (1998; 2006), Ribeiro (2009; 2016), Rojo (2009; 2012), Carmelino e Kogawa (2020), Kress (1998), Soares (2011), Koch (2006), Gabriel (2013), Lopes e Nunes (2020), Dolz; Noverraz e Schnewli (2004), as well as other works that, to some extent, dialogue with this subject. In view of the above, it is considered important to verify the social communication and multimodality treated with and by these communication elements, with emphasis on their production, use and dissemination processes.
