Resumo: | This paper is concerned about the numerical implementation of the boundary integral equations to solve two-dimensional linear elastic fracture mechanics problems by means of the dual boundary element method. For a point in a crack face it is considered the displacement boundary integral equation while in the corresponding point of the otherface it is considered the traction boundary integral equation. The crack surfaces are modeled with discontinuous quadratic boundary elements in order to satisfy the necessary conditions for the existence of the principal-value integrals and the requirement of the smoothness of geometry. The treatment of the singular integrals raised in this method is done by straightforward analytical formulation. The Stress intensity factors (KI e KII) are evaluated by numerical techniques based on relativedisplacements of the crack surface points such as: the displacement extrapolation and the one-point displacement formulae. The results presented in the work in such a way demonstrate a good numerical precision of the method implemented for problems of mode I or mode II of loading or involving mixed mode. |
