Resumo: The choro, an original Brazilian instrumental genre, has increasingly been chosen as an academical research object. In Belo Horizonte, despite of its non-centural history, the choro established itself thanks to the regular production of instrumental groups and composers which dedicated to this style. The current article aims at documenting choros development in the capital of Minas Gerais, since it arrived from Rio de Janeiro, throughout the live broadcastings of the chorões in the oldradios of the city, with biographical information of its main composers, as well as a catalog of their pieces. Due to the vast number of composers writing pieces in this genre, we chose to approach, within the scope pf this article, only the musicians who worked regularly as instrumentalists of famous groups of choro in Belo Horizonte, as well as composers of considerable production. The reduced variety of bibliography references led to the strategy of using, as the main methodological procedure, the analysis of the pieces and half-structured interviews with composers, instrumentalists and radialists. The pieces were catalog by date, composer, dedicatory (in case there is), genre (choro or waltz-choro) and location.
