Resumo: | The purpose of this study is to analyze numerically simply supported steel-concrete composite beams, taking into account the influence of the friction at the slab/steel profile interface and the flexibility and ductility of shear connectors. A finite element model is developed using ANSYS software, with predefined elements of the program. The model is appropriate for any type of loading applied to the slab or the steel profile and allows for elastic and inelastic behavior of the slab, the steel profile and the connectors. Thus, it is possible to get responses related to serviceability and ultimate limit states of the composite beams. The model validation is achieved through the solution of the differential equations governing the problem, for the particular case of uniformly distributed loads applied to the slab and the steel profile, with slab, profile and connectors in the elastic range. The responses obtained from the numerical model are compared with results based on standards, the main parameters varying within practical ranges. Comparisons of the model responses with results of a test are also presented. It is concluded that the lack of consideration of shear connector flexibility in usual standard formulations can lead to unrealistic results for the composite beam displacement. |
