Resumo: | This research presents the study of the rural vocabulary of Sabinópolis, located in the region of Vale do Rio Doce, in Minas Gerais. Founded in 1923 from the city of Serro, Sabinópolis emerged from a large camp in the mountains of Vale do Rio Doce, between the rivers Correntes, Correntes- Canoas and Correntinho, on the slopes of the Serra Botelhoroute of pioneers who explored the gold in the region. As for theoretical support we relied on the Anthropological Linguistics (Duranti and Hymes), on the Sociolinguistics (Labov and Milroy), on the Lexicology and Lexicography (Matoré and Biderman), focusing on the lexicon, principally on the diatopical perspective. Following the labovian model, we startfrom the present to collect our data through 10 oral interviews carried out in Sabinópolis, we back to the past to consult dictionaries of the eighteenth century (Bluteau), XIX (Morais), of the first half of the twentieth century (Laudelino Freire), we return to the present to make comparisons between these periods. After analyzing the data, we found theexistence of a regional vocabulary, similarities and differences with other areas studied. The results obtained through our survey, which showed the historical, social and cultural aspects in the region, highlighting the importance of working with the land, we show thatthe lexicological studies indicate a strong relationship of man with the culture and theenvironment in which is inserted. |
