Resumo: Giving privilege to the writings and films of Pier Paolo Pasolini during the seventies, but not forgetting or ignoring the works lie produced earlier, in his youth, this thesis aims to unveil a certain philosophical dimension (ontological) that is expressed, as an experience of reality, in his critical reading of the present time. It aims also to indicate the existence of an influence of the Frankfurt School theorists on Pasolini's work over that decade, and this particularly in his critique of the new phenomena arised from the "modernization" process of the social and economic relations in the post-war Italian capitalism. But the goal is an explication of the "texts" written by Pasolini, and not a critical dialogue with the main interpreters of his work (this would result in a different work). Nevertheless, this study does develop some criteria and presuppositions for a critical reading that is quite distinct from those made after Pasolini's death, exclusively concerned with aspects of his personal life. The emphasis is here on the actuality of the historical, social, cultural and political problem faced by Pasolini in his critique of the contemporary society.
