This is a phenomenological study which resulted from my experience in the context of a hospital-centered model, as a caregiver subject who then became a cared-for subject as the result of an automobile accident. This brought the wish to understand the meaning of caremanagement, from the point of view of the nurse who cares, because of the feeling of absence of this professional in the care I was given. With the path chosen, it was possible to draw close to the phenomenon, providing the description of its essence. Seven nurses participatedand, to keep the privacy of the discourse, we created pseudonyms using the letters of the word SENTIDO (in English, meaning), which corresponds to the number of interviewees. The interviews were recorded, which permitted a better grasp of the speech of the subjects. The guiding issue Describe to me the situation you lived through, which portrays the Management of Care giving in Nursing made it possible to find 91 themes which, after examining overlapping and different meanings, raised ten major themes, and were dividedinto 4 major categories: the daily routine of caring; flexibility; step into the gap; management of nursing care. The result signaled the elements which influence the management of care, including time in its different aspects, which suggests new studies.
