This work was based on case studies regarding steel structures production cycle for multiple floors buildings. The term "structures of production" in this paper is understood as simultaneity of product designs and process designs, which includes projects of production (for the manufacture) and projects for production (for fitting). This work describes the impact of management issues in the design process on the quality of structures and ensuring their performance. The selectedcompanies for this research, have implemented a quality management system and apply the concepts of concurrent engineering to the production flow of the constructive system. The evidence sources the internal documents were analyzed for each company regarding process design, and semi-structured interviews and direct observation of work routines. For validation, the triangulation of collected informations was carried out primarily among the. The cases were compared bothbetween companies and with the information provided by the literature. Based on exploratory studies have been identified deficiencies in the production cycle, in particular in the design process. Such deficiencies emerged from the manufacturer x client relationship and the impact of resource allocation in the flow of the activities of the product life cycle. It can also be named the impact of commercial and of the financial issues in the flow of activities, of the integration of the sectors and of the innovation of projects within the company.
