Resumo: | The object of study of this thesis concerns some of the narratives produced by João Guimarães Rosa and compiled in the books: Sagarana, Primeiras estórias, Outras estórias, Ave, palavra Corpo de Baile and Grande Sertão: Veredas. The analysis of this corpus aims to verify to what extent these narratives help to rethink the concept of cordial man present in the Brazilian sociological thought, especially the development of this concept in Raízes do Brasil, Sérgio Buarque de Holanda. Given the location of these narratives between the archaic hinterland and the foundation of the Brazilian urban environment, same panorama discussed by SBH, it was concluded from the arguments presented that there is an aesthetic re-use of some of the main arguments developed by SBH on the roots of Brazilian society. It is believed that due to such aesthetic re-use, the concept of cordiality resonates in the analysed corpus, which brings us here to attribute characteristics of the said concept to the narratives produced by João Guimarães Rosa, allowing us to see this author as an interpreter of Brazil. |
