Resumo: The active mobility, referring to the movements of people using their own force, has permeated discussions in different contexts, due to the direct form as it is inserted in the dynamics of the cities. These, in turn, reflect a series of conflicts and inequalities that have been potentialized by the predominant models of urbanization in Brazil. In this sense, the modes of active locomotion, especially walking, capable of benefiting the quality of urban space in relation to health, safety, perception, among other aspects, have been neglected by those who plan and manage cities. An analysis of pedestrian mobility demands understanding the relationships between environmental attributes and walking behavior. In mid-sized cities, there is a gap in available data and studies on active locomotion modes. Thus, the objective of this research is to analyze the influence of land use, population density and connectivity of the roads, by integration and choice, in walking activity in two districts in the city of Montes Claros - Ibituruna and Major Prates. For this, it was necessary a bibliographic and documentary research stage, a stage of elaboration of maps referring to the spatial analysis of the neighborhoods (zoning and population density), a stage of elaboration of the axial maps, as primary data, and the final stage of observation field. It was concluded that the Ibituruna neighborhood has long blocks and roads, sometimes organic, sometimes orthogonal, but less connected, offering fewer route options, which results in a more difficult mobility for pedestrians, except for some roads, commercial section of the neighborhood. At the same time, it is concluded that Major Prates neighborhood, with more orthogonal blocks, shorter and more connected, offers greater mobility to pedestrians, with more route options and, due to the diversity of uses, more attractive movement along the roads. Finally, it was verified that the attributes adopted as parameters in the two neighborhoods are directly linked to the movement of pedestrians and vehicles. Although the analysis did not consider all the possible factors that influence walking choice, these criteria facilitate the understanding of mobility in the study areas and allow indexes to be compared. This opens up possibilities for the use of tools with municipal planning, as well as the extension of the method to other municipalities
