Resumo: | As regard to Brazil, public universities are the most important sources of the scientific knowledge. Agricultural Sciences is considered one of the fields which have the greater scientific production in Brazil. The Veterinarian School of Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (EV-UFMG) must be highlighted in this context. Therefore, it will be the objectof the present research, picturing the Veterinarian Medicine and Animal Husbandry subfields. The aim of this study is to assess the scientific knowledge management through the investigation of veterinarian graduate and post graduate students and professors perceptionabout research, education and culture in the EV-UFMG. It is possible to define this dissertation as a applied social research, in which the purpose has been to outline/analyse a population characteristic. Data has been collected by structured questionnaires and quantitatively analysed by descriptive statistic. Also, the present research has employed a documental analysis whose sources were: the Lattes platform website, the EV-UFMG website, the CNPq website, UFMG website. A questionnaire has been the collect instrumentof the current study. It had been presented to the participants in two formats: printed and electronic. The statistical analysis has been made using SPSS software. Professors, graduate students of veterinary medicine and post graduate students of EV-UFMG were the investigations subject. The present dissertation has analysed the EVUFMG and described the education, culture and scientific production through these subjects mentioned above. Then, some peculiarities has been understood. From these analyzes, there was an investigation based on the conceptual model for the management of scientific knowledge developed by Leite (2006), seeking to evaluate the success and management of EV-UFMG. It intends to propose, from this exercise, a sketch of a conceptual model for the management of scientific knowledge in EV-UFMG. Concerning to education, it has been detected a problem in the different value that graduate students and professors give to thesource used as academic background. Another important fact is that post-graduation programs and the system which evaluates the post-graduation provide no importance to education practice. About the scientific production, a problem faced from all the social actorsof this study concerns to the average evaluation of the scientific communication. The wide interference of the evaluation system and development agencies in culture, production, publication of research results is another aspect to be taken into consideration. It is noticedthat teachers, principals, deans and post-graduate programs must come together to discuss with CAPES on the parameters and deadlines for the assessment of programs in order to get a post-graduation course not only focused researching, but also to teaching. |
