Resumo: | This research aims to help the Business Administration study, specifically the family business understanding and its economical importance in worldwide and national level. The professionalization process is focus of this research once it becomes more and more complex due to the turbulent environment and difficulties faced by theBrazilians companies after the opening of Brazilian economy in the early 90´s. The textile sector was chosen as the scenery of this research due to its historical and economical importance and because it was one of the most affected by external competition. The methodology adopted was the case study of a large textile family company of Minas Gerais. Due to the challenges of technology modernization and work organization, the company decided to make professional the board of directors. This research describes the professionalization process mainly with interviews with the company owners, managers and employees, taking conclusions and raising questions that can help understanding and even awake the interest that may led to the accomplishment of other studies about the family business professionalization. |
