Resumo: | The objective of this work was to understand the behavior of the fatigue crack growth rate in ASTM A36 steel testing in air and underwater conditions for different depths. The tests were made in the specimen of compact tension in accordance with ASTM E647. To develop the research was made a device adaptable on INSTRON 8802 machine that allows tests in underwater conditions at different depths varying the pressure. It was assembled a acquisition signal system made of modified clip-gage,acquisition device from National Instruments (NI cDAQ-9172) and LabVIEW software. Then was possible to obtain data were used to generate graphics a-N and da/dN versus K using the same loading conditions in all tests and changing the environment (lamina of water and then a pressure of 2 atm to simulate a depth of 20m). Was observed that, when Bergner model is used, there are variations in fatigue crack propagation rate in underwater conditions of 0,3m and 20m water depth. |
