Resumo: This research aimed to investigate the extent to which organizational commitment and retaliatory attitudes are related. Thus, we sought to calculate the degree of organizational commitment of employees and the attitudinal measure of organizational retaliation in a state public institution in the financial sector. The study also sought to verify the existing relationships between the variables that make up the construct organizational commitment and the variables that make up the construct retaliatory attitudes. Considering these objectives, it was decided to carry out a quantitative and descriptive research based on the intersectional survey method, using a questionnaire that included the scales EBACO of Medeiros et al. (2005), and MARO, by Mendonça and Tamayo (2003). The statistical treatment of the data involved structural equation modeling techniques using the PLS (Partial Least Square) method. The results shows that there is a negative and significant relationship between organizational commitment and retaliation attitudes constructs, so that the greater the commitment, the less retaliation and contrariwise. For the formation of the compromise construct, the indicator lack of rewards and opportunities was the one that most impacted; while the affiliative indicator was the one that had the least impact. Already in the retaliation construct, the conative indicator had a greater impact on the construct formation than the "affective" indicator.
