Resumo: This qualitative case study is based on comprehensive sociology and aims to understand the link between health professionals, users and service managers during the day-to-day work of the Family Health Strategy. The study was conducted at a Primary Healthcare Center in a municipality in the state of Minas Gerais. The participants included professionals from two Family Health teams, totaling two doctors, two nurses, five nursing technicians, ten community health workers, threemanagers (key informants) and twelve users. Data was collected by means of direct observation recorded in a field diary, as well as interviews based on a semistructured script. The interviews were evaluated using discourse analysis. First, the interview transcripts were systematically reviewed and converted into observation notes. These observations were then cross-referenced such that categories could beconstructed. The data was organized into three categories, each with its own subcategory: 1. Multiple facets of the link: interdiscourse between health professionals, users and managers; 1.1. "Our second family"; 1.2. Temporal attachment; 1.3. Commitment and responsibility to others; 2. (Im)possibility of forming a bond during the day-to-day work of the Family Health Strategy; 2.1. ACS: subject enmeshed in the establishment of the link; 2.2. Obstacles to the establishment of the link; 3. ESF: situation around the day-to-day link. The results of the study show the polysemy of the link, through the various conceptions of the study participants, demonstrating with successive approximations the ideology of the bond. The ACS functions as a mediating and involved subject in the formation of the bond. However, some obstacles, such as ineffective communication and excessive amounts of work, made it difficult to establish a link. It was also found that, within the context of the ESF, the link has been present, permeated by a variety of feelings and created through the daily experience of each subject. It is hoped that this research will contribute to new observations and ideas related to the professional-patient link inthe Family Health Strategy.
