Resumo: | The present Project is part of a new perspective for the Amazonian Archaeology, which is: the technological study of the lithic collections of pottery stages thought a methodology adapted from the French School (Leroi-Gourhan, 1964; Pelegrin et al., 1980; Inizan et al., 1995; etc.). The proposition is to analyze the lithic industries of one of the archeological sites from Porto Trombetas region, lower Amazon River, betweenTrombetas and Nhamundá Rivers, Pará estate, relating them to the pottery industries present. This region has been studied archeologically since 1920, being recently studied by the researchers of the Museu Paraense Emilio Goeldi, in context of Rescue Archeology, under Vera Guapindaias coordination. The archeological context for the region reveals the existence of two occupations, with different pottery stiles: Pocó (65 a.C ± 95 a 205 ± 115 AD) and Konduri (AD 1400 ±100 Hilbert, 1955; Hilbert & Hilbert, 1980). The chosen site (PA-OR-127: Cipoal do Araticum) takes place at the interfluve compartiment and this sequence is not very clear as it is for another sites for the region, known as reference ones, such as the PA-OR-63: Boa Vista. The question is, though, to know if the lithic material changes as the pottery trough time, trying to understand the dynamic of sites occupation, by analyzing another material category, sofar left out of deeper analysis. |
