Resumo: | The increasing global demand for reducing the atmospheric emission from diesel motors is pushing to the development of new technologies of these components with smaller gaps and consequently fuel filters each time more restrictive. The evolution of motors production demands an improvement in the quality of fuels that will be burnt by it. Therefore, the current diesel oil needs to be specified with increasing restrictive quality standards to guarantee the proper performance of the engines. Thus, the study of the fuel degradation throughout its lifetime becomes essential once a broad variation of its quality may be possible even with short storage time, which can disrupt the fuel utilization by modern engines. Therefore this paper studies the chemical degradation of diesel during storage using aging techniques, over there the diesel oil characterization by UV-VIS to investigate the degradation of oil diesel during storage and in addition to it, insoluble elements was characterized by Fourrier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). In the present work, an analysis of degradation rate of diesel oil was made, identifying the degradation of fuel over time as well as the activation energy of reaction formation of insoluble elements using the Arrhenius law. |
