Resumo: The necessity of obtaining products with better mechanical properties has led to tests on how deformation variations of shaped materials. In this context, this work analyzes the behavior of deformation heterogeneity in the rolling of AISI 304 steel, through experimental and numerical simulations using the finite element method. In the experimental tests, the microhardness profile method was used to evaluate the thickness distribution of laminated plates with reductions of 5, 92%, 10, 93% and 16,90%, while in simulations of deformation profiles were obtained by simulation of the lamination with refered reductions. Based on these results, the parameters related to the study of deformation heterogeneity, as average strain (m), heterogeneity factor (F.H.) and redundant strain coefficient () were calculated. Subsequently, effective true stress effective true strain curves of the pre-rolled samples were obtained and compared with effective true stress effective true strain curve of annealed samples. It may be noted that the deformation at the center of the rolled material is less than the deformations at the edge of the sheet and pre-rolled AISI 304 work hardenig has increased through the examination of the flow curves.
