Resumo: | This thesis deals with the construction of masculinities from the experiences of young university students who live or have lived in fraternities in the city of Ouro Preto (MG). The ethnography was produced through a field of contexts/sources: relationships with my interlocutors, interviews, my previous experiences, images, documents, books, testimonies, hymns (songs), in addition to the virtual environment as a possibility to observe interactions between UFOP students. The trajectories and experiences of the interlocutors indicate how everyday practices build masculinities, sometimes around a hegemonic, sexist and sexist model, sometimes destabilizing this archetype and emphasizing the heterogeneous context of the types of masculinities that are constituted (and circulate) in the fraternities. The reports and other materials also made it possible to discuss, in a relational and contextual way, categories such as gender, race, class, heterosexuality, emotions imbricated in the processes of construction of masculinities in fraternities. Finally, I highlight how the social relations between students inside the student houses produce idealized models of masculinities and, thus, the houses can also be seen as marked by gender. |
