Resumo: The pharmacist has great accessibility on the part of the population in the community pharmacy. In his performance, the pharmacist develops administrative and clinical activities, contributing to an effective and safe drug therapy and to the improvement of public health. Therefore, undergraduate Pharmacy courses have a relevant role in their instruction, and they should be concerned not only with theoretical learning, but also with an effective instruction to train competent professionals. In this sense, studies that evaluate the effectiveness of learning and the preparation of students in the health area become relevant. This study aims to assess the perceptions of undergraduate students on the achievement of learning objectives and on the academic guidance methods of an internship program in community pharmacy. As a secondary goal, the study aimed to analyze the factors associated with achieving the learning objectives, noticed by the scholars, considering characteristics of the students, the internship and the academic orientation model (face-to-face or mixed-blended learning). The internship included experiential learning, carried out in a public or private community pharmacy under the supervision of a pharmacist, and academic guidance by university professors. It is an observational study with quantitative and qualitative methods. It was included undergraduates in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) who took the mandatory internship in community pharmacy in two moments: first semester of 2017 and 2019. The academic guidance method used in 2017 was mixed-blended learning and face-to-face teaching in 2019. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire with information from the students, from the internship field, items to assess the perception of the student on the achievement of learning objectives and academic guidance methods, as well as fields for making comments. Sixty-three students (95.5%) in 2017 and 66 students (85.7%) in 2019 answered spontaneously to the questionnaires, totaling 129 participants. Most undergraduates either agreed or fully agreed that the internship increased their understanding of the pharmacist's current profile and their responsibilities in the community pharmacy (97.7%); prepared them for the care of the user (78.3%); performed a critical analysis of the pharmacy activities and are able to propose improvements (90%). Academic guidance methods such as discussions and case analysis were considered appropriate by the students for the learning process. Students supervised by pharmacists who performed clinical services were 3.98 times more likely to agree of fully agree that the internship achieved the learning goal of preparing them for care, compared with those who did not have this supervision profile. Students with academic guidance in the face-to-face model were 2.81 times more likely to agree of fully agree that the internship achieved the learning goal of preparing them for care, compared to those oriented in the blended learning model. The results of the research can contribute to improvements in the internship program, such as qualifying the internship fields and improving academic guidance.
