Resumo: The present study aimed to assess the relationship between organizational commitment and personality constructs. The relevance of this study lies in the need to understand what factors contribute to tlre persistence and commitment of employees in an organization, especially with regard to personality traits. To do so, an explanatory cross- sectional, quantitative survey of nature was held in the form of survey in two agencies ofthe direct administration ofthe Executive Branch of the State of Minas Gerais, with a sample of 117 sewers. Personality traits, according to the theoretical model ofthe Big Five and demographics of the respondents, data collection in an online questiomraire that assessed organizational commitment, according to the three-dimensional model of Meyer and Allen (1991) was applied. In data analysis descriptive statistical procedures i for sample characterization were used nature as well as multiple linear regression to investigate the relationship between variables. As a result we verified the existence of a positive relationship between the traits of conscientiousness and kindness and commitment of affective and normative types, as well as a negative relationship between trait neuroticism and instrumental commitment.
