Resumo: | The dissertation investigates the potential political dimension of the media witnessing of suffering in television narratives. Seeks to understand the media witnessing phenomenon beyond its rhetorical dimension, taking it as an activity marked by the affirmation of acommon human vulnerability. In this sense, collates the media witnessing with an aestheticpolitical perspective interested in the reformulation of the common measures by dissent manifestation of proof competing worlds housed in one. Examines, then, which suggests itselfas a potential political dimension of media witnessing, particularly as regards the inegalitarian entanglement of bodies and speeches of sufferering subjects in television narratives. In light of the theme of the compulsive use of crack addressed by narratives, explores problems about the production of victim, the abject bodies and "unworthy lives", confronting them with aesthetic issues surrounding exposure of the bodies in situations of suffering, on the appeal to pity, compassion, solidarity and empathy. Based on the particularities of the television device, discusses the role of scripting, as well as the logic of the desire to watch and to show that regulates television production on his way to arrange the elements of representation. Drawing on analytical categories anchored in the testimonial function of bodies and speeches, as wellas the frameworks of identity, feeling and injustice, analyzes the television programs A Liga, Profissão Repórter e A verdade de cada um as instances of investigation of the potential political dimension of the media witnessing. At the end, there were episodic but significant moments in which certain scenes configured by the programs seem to reveal the unfair common measures that divide the subjects in different worlds and at the same time, show the division that emerges from the coincidence of the worlds. It is short and decisive moments in which the subjects reappropriate their impropriety, assume its most intense fragility and speak of themselves, ensuring the witness of suffering a chance to confront a political order with its surplus. |
