Resumo: | This research engages in a dialogue about image construction, self-portraiture, photo performance, and the body-space relationship through the analysis of works by women artists Francesca Woodman, Vivian Maier, Helena Almeida, Ana Mendieta, and Trisha Brown. The aim is to reflect on the centrality of the body and how it can serve as a tool for presence and wandering as a methodology in artistic research. This study explores the works of these artists to establish connections and understand the historical context of their production between the 1950s and 1970s. Through the concept of "Writings of Space" by Delory-Mombrger, this dissertation reflects on the role of women in visual arts, with a focus on photography, as a means of creating identities, fiction, and artistic creation procedures. Given the nature of these artists' works and their potential for multiple dialogues between photography, drawing, body, space, and movement, a transversal and interdisciplinary methodology was chosen for this research. |
